The Role
Collaborate directly with the satellite to design, test, and implement robust operational procedures.
Enhance the satellite’s onboard Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR) and autonomy systems to ensure greater resilience and performance.
Advance the FDIR and autonomous functionalities within the satellite commanding software to support intelligent mission operations.
Develop and optimize tools for ground-based and in-flight testing, including automation frameworks, to elevate the reliability and efficiency of satellite command execution.
Location – Our Mission Operations Team are based mainly in Germany & Europe – for this position, you will be based in Germany, with a remote working option.
Job requirements
About you
Solid understanding of common communication protocols across various layers of the stack (e.g., CCSDS, CSP).
Experience with satellite commanding systems and procedures.
Familiarity with satellite operations, including both onboard and ground-based Fault Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR) processes, is highly advantageous.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash and Lua is preferred; strong Python programming skills are essential.
Experience with Java, C, or C++ is a valuable asset.
