Job description
Our Mission
At constellr, we're harnessing the power of space to solve one of Earth’s greatest challenges: climate resilience & security in a changing world. Our thermal satellite constellation delivers the most accurate land surface temperature data on the market, equipping commercial players, governments, defence agencies, and global institutions with the thermal intelligence they need to make strategic decisions– from national security and infrastructure to agriculture and climate resilience.
As a fast-scaling company with offices in Brussels, Freiburg, Munich, Washington and Toulouse, our multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and strategists is building the future of space-based Earth observation.
Your Role: Product Manager – Mission Operations Systems (MOS), Driving the development and success of our software tools running optimisation across our satellite operations.
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Product Manager . This role is central to ensuring that our MOS product suite delivers measurable business value by maximising imaging performance and ensuring stable, cost-efficient operations.
The MOS tool suite is divided into two core pillars:
Imaging Toolchain: Focused on maximising image capture opportunities and increasing the value of imaging operations.
Operating & Safety Toolchain: Designed to minimise the cost, effort, and risk involved in running reliable satellite operations.
As our Product Manager, you will guide the development of features that directly support both objectives—working with technical teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners to deliver tools that enhance performance, reduce operational friction, and maintain a competitive edge in proprietary data collection. You will be embedded in the MOS team while reporting directly to the VP of Product.
Location - We have hubs in Munich, Berlin, and Freiburg. We offer this opportunity on a remote or hybrid basis within Germany.
Key Responsibilities
Requirement management: understand the business needs of interfacing functions, collect all business requirements from interfacing cross-functional teams (End-User-Platform & Payload Data Segment) and incorporate those in the backlog
Ideation & Feature Development: Work with the MOS team & technical leads to convert requirements into feature ideas and document the demands and effort on the features accordingly
Backlog management: Own the backlog of ideas and feature requests, keep it up to date with all requirements and in close exchange with the team, and drive a coherent prioritisation of all backlog items in line with business requirements.
Product Roadmaps: Drive coherent roadmaps for all MOS tools that consider business requirements and technical feasibility. Align the team on key milestones and ensure scoping of features to meet critical business milestones
Cross-functional collaboration and interface management: Be the go-to contact for other teams to align on interface requirements, foster a strong exchange and ensure alignment on roadmap and key milestones
External supplier interface: Ensure requirements for features/components built by external suppliers are well communicated and clearly understood; manage delivery of features in line with the product roadmap.
Product Strategy: Together with the team, develop and shape a long-term strategy for the MOS tools, considering make or buy decisions
User Engagement & Feedback: Consolidate feedback and ideas for improvements from users (satellite operators, delivery team) and key interfaces (End-User-Platform & Payload Data Segment), understand their needs, and ensure the product meets or exceeds their expectations. Drive validations & testing of solution improvements with respective stakeholders
